Canon PIXMA TS9550 Driver Download- Almost every printer you can buy is designed to hold the paper up to A4 or US Letter size. That’s fine for everyday documents, but on the small side for posters or photo enlargements, and pointless if you want to print an A4 booklet to fold and bind.
The Pixma TS9550 requires A3 (and slightly larger) paper, and for under 200 pounds, it’s still pretty affordable.
A scanner with a 20-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) is mounted on top, but – like many comparable models – it only accommodates A4, so you can’t make photocopies of A3 pages.
The paper tray at the bottom also only requires A4, leaving the feedback, which sticks out from the top of the printer, to handle up to 50 sheets of A3 (or 20 sheets if it’s photo paper). This setup means they’re only slightly larger than an A4 multi-function inkjet printer.
Wi-Fi is pre-installed, with the usual online storage and mobile device options, as well as USB and Ethernet for wired connection to a PC or network. There is also an SD card slot for printing photos directly from a memory stick.
At 12.5 A4 pages per minute (ppm), our black text document prints quite slowly for an inkjet in this price bracket, and color graphics reduce this to 3.8ppm. A page of A3 plain text takes 17 seconds, and a page of color graphics takes 46 seconds. You can print both sides A4
Operating costs for the five inks (there are two black inks) run at around 8.6p per A4 color page, which is slightly above average. As usual, only starter ink is included, so you’ll need a refill set right away, costing about half the price of the printer if you use the cost-effective XXL cartridge. Some brands sell unofficial compatible inks at lower prices if you want to experiment.
We’re happy with the print and scan quality of the Pixma TS9550, but it’s not a high-quality photo printer or a fast office printer. Epson’s WorkForce WF-7710DWF is cheaper to buy and run, slightly faster, and has a full A3 scanner, which makes it a larger but more versatile machine.
